Christmas in Thailand at last. For a month now they have been playing Christmas songs. The song famous on Christmas Day in Thailand are only two songs that they play very often: Jingle Bells and Santa Claus is coming to town.

This time of year every department store and shopping mall will be celebrating Christmas all day by playing Christmas songs and having people dress up as Santa Claus. Also when you go out, if you look around you will see Christmas trees and other decorations everywhere you go. Special shopping mall for Christmas is Central World Shopping Center(World Trade Center), at here provide the big Xmas tree and the beautiful fire around the shopping mall.

When Christmas day came, those students (Christain school) had to come to school very early in the morning to get dressed up. Then they would go to stand at the front of the school gate. There they gave away candies to the students as they arrive at school to say "Happy Christmas". Also, Christmas songs were playing loudly all over the school through the speakers.

Deep in some horticulture website comes a line on how kids love sunflowers for their brightness and their bigness. But as we take a Sunday drive to where Thailand's rice fields become rolling countryside and huge hills of marble and granite, a child's fascination appears strikingly more evident among the adults swarming the edges of field after field of sunflowers, or thantawan as they are called here.

Certainly no honey or fragrance has drawn them. Crowding under the circus-like canopies of festive yellow, blue and green stripes, perhaps they see what Van Gogh saw. Maybe they hope to follow the flower's face turning from east to west, drinking in as much sunlight as it can in a day. When fully grown, the flowers will stop chasing the sun and stand still until their heads droop and their vivid colour evaporates and someone comes along and picks them for what has been described as the ultimate bird food. Although, the mineral content of the disk flowers - the hundreds of spikes that fill the face - make it an amazing human treat. Sunflower seeds are said to be in the same protein league as beef and have more iron than any other food except egg yolks and liver.

Whether it's the vast spread of bright colour or the up-close burst of life or just a pleasant excuse for a drive in the country, more than a million sunflower pilgrims head to central Thailand each November to January. Farmers in 13 Thai provinces plant sunflowers in rotation with other crops. The sunflower produces the world's second most important and valuable oil seed (coconut oil is the first). Some provinces are far more scenic than others, such as Mae Hong Son, but not so convenient for a day trip.

Festival of Light - Loy Krathong in Thailand

Loy Krathong is provided on 24 November 2007. Also known as the “Festival of Lights”, the Loy Krathong Sai Festival is celebrated each year on the day of the full moon in the 12th lunar month and is one of the country’s most popular celebrations. Beginning on the first evening of the full moon, the Thailand festival has Buddhist origins and offers thanks to the Goddess of Water at the end of the rainy season.

Traditionally, participants head to rivers around the country to set their “krathongs” – a lotus-shaped vessel made from banana leaves that is laden with candles and burning incense – afloat, making a wish as they do so. Many hotels and institutions hold special events as part of the festival and all are welcome to participate in the celebrations. Most of the country celebrates in some way on the night of the full moon, but many towns and cities have celebrations that last for several days

Phuket Vegetarian Festival 2007 - Famous Event in Phuket

One of the famous year event of Phuket Island [South of Thailand], is the Phuket Vegetarian Festival (or jia chai in local Hokkien Chinese dialect) during the period of October, 11 to 19, 2007. The ceremonial is during the ninth lunar month of the Chinese calendar.

During the 10-day event, participants stick to a strict vegetarian diet which is believed to spiritually cleanse the soul of devotees. Phuket’s annual Vegetarian Festival dates back to 1825 when a touring opera company were struck down with illnesses and only cured of their maladies by a vegetarian diet. The Kin Jay festival has taken place every year ever since beginning on the first evening of the ninth lunar month and continuing until the ninth evening.

Kin Jay festival marks the start of a period of purification. Those involved come prepared after six days of abstention from meat, alcohol and sex. The stranger ceremonies date back to the mid-19th century when a travelling Chinese opera company fell gravely ill. Fearing that they had let down their Gods, the actors performed self-mutilator rites in an effort to cure themselves. It is also celebrated by devout Chinese all over the world, although the island's five temples are the most famous venues for the strange tradition.

Pattaya Schedules First Hospitality Expo

The inaugural Pattaya Food and Hoteliers Expo'07 is set to kick off in August to raise the local industry's standards.

Pattaya will hold the inaugural Pattaya Food and Hoteliers Expo'07 from 9 to 11 August at A One The Royal Cruise Hotel Pattaya. The aim of the event is to enhance the service standards of tourism in the region. More than 50 buyers and sellers are expected to participate. Attached to the Event is the first Trade Fair and Hoteliers Competition for hoteliers in Pattaya and the eastern provinces.

Orgenisers are: Pattaya Council; Tourism Authority of Thailand Central Office Region III, Chefs Association of Pattaya, F and B Association Eastern Chapter and Housekeeping Club Eastern Chapter.

Candle Festival at Ubon Ratchathani

In July, Khao Phansa or the Buddhist Lent is the time when all Buddhist monks must stay in their temples. In Ubon Ratchathani, a unique festival that highlights the talented skills of local artisans as well as display of religious devotion is held each year. Singer Rain's world tour in Thailand will likely be delayed due to unstable local conditions. Rain's performance was set for June third and fourth at Bangkok's Impact Arena.

The world tour organizer StarM said Wednesday that safety is the first concern following a chain of organized bomb explosions earlier this month in Bangkok. It said it is discussing a postponement with the Thai organizing agency, possibly to June, but that it is yet undecided.

Rain's coming in Asia Concert World Tour 2007

"Rain World Tour 06/07- Rain’s Coming" of Rain, the hottest singer in Asia, is evaluated as the most important event in Asian Entertainment and Performance Industry during the beginning of the year 2007.

The tour will last for 6 months, from December 15th 2006 to May 2007, with 35 shows through numerous countries such as Korea, the US, Singapore, Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, China, Malaysia, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Philippine and Taiwan.

During the last time, Bi has performed in Korea ( October 13rd, 2006); Las Vegas – US ( December 23 – 24th, 2006); Hong Kong ( January, 12–13 rd, 2007), Malaysia ( January, 27th, 2007) and then will be Vietnam ( March, 10-11th, 2007).
